Legal Issue On Internet

I have something to share with you guys this week. From the following website, http://ecommerze.blogspot.com/search/label/Legal , I found that something is important to let you all know about it.

I know that most of our internet users in Malaysia are using the internet service to download digital products. Some of them login to some website to download the latest the music and movies, but do all of you know that it is an illegal action and unethical to do so? However, many of the users did not realize about it and even care about it.

In UK, a new law has been implemented to those internet users, who are illegally download some of the digital products like copy right music and movies. How is the law being implementing? The government will cut off the internet connection of the illegal downloader.
Besides that, Among the contents of the new proposed law are ISP who failed to enforce the rules could be prosecuted and details of customers suspected in illegal downloading can be made available to the courts.

In Malaysia, I heard that the Malaysia governments also enforce the rule to protect those copy right digital product. However, it is not efficienct and effectiven enough. According to a research, more than 70% of the internet users in Malaysia are using the internet to download video or music. Thus, I think that Malaysia government should be more concern about it.

Corporate blog

In this technological world, many companies own their corporate blog respectively to contribute to the success of business. Corporate blog is published and used by an organization to reach its strategic goals. It includes internal and external blog.

Internal blog :It can access through the corporation's Intranet and it is also a weblog that can be viewed by any employee. Many blogs are also communal, allowing anyone to post to them. Besides that, internal blog has a lot of benefits: it encourages all employees’ participation for free discussion of issues, collective intelligence. CEO offering his vision and strategy, show case new ideas, products or even innovative applications (with no practical relation) in a company, marketing and public relations for the company to the outside world.

External blog: It is a publicly available weblog where company's employees, teams, or spokespersons can share their views. The advantage is it is often be used to announce new products and services (or the end of old products), to explain and clarify policies, or to react on public criticism on certain issues.

For example, The Scott Ragsdale who is one of the top CEO blogs. The main purpose of his blog is to communicate with his 300+ employees, his future employees and leaders of naseba, clients, future clients, and investors – at the same time to help him stay focused on his climb — to build naseba into a multi-hundred million euro company.( http://www.scottragsdale.com/)

But, corporate blog has some drawbacks:
There have been dozen of cases of workers warned pr fired because of some issues that they have written in the blog.
1. It can be trickly to drag public comment out of company without first routing through the sanitizing filther of a press office.
2. There is a risk than ill-judged comment could be seized upon by the media
3. Poorly written corporate blogs can look fake or they reveal incompetence on he part of the writer.

Review on a local e-commerce site

In this post, i would like to introduce a local e-commerce site. It is actually an e-commerce site created by my friend. The site is http://www.myhomaniacs.com/. It is actually an organization that specializes in fashion. It was founded on 13 April 2007 by a group of young people that has great passion in fashion.

Currently, the website has items ranging from cloths, pants, skirts, dress to bracelet. It is more a ladies website where they can actually purchase what they like from the latest trend without having to get through the hassle of going to shopping malls.



As a review on this site, my opinion is that it is a very good site in terms of varieties and there is alot of pictures in it as customers tend to be interested more on the pictures than its description. The website is also understandable and easier to shop with compared to other e-commerce site which are a little bit complicated. There is also a search collum where customers can search any item they had in their mind. Customer can pay for their items via credit card payment, online banking and even paypal. This website also provides refund of any dissatisfactory of purchases in which is a good method to gain customer trust.



However, in my opinion the website focus more on young girl customers. The site should put in more products ranging from all ages and genders. The website is also considered not a so popular website through main search engines like yahoo.com and google. Therefore more traffic is required in which more awareness on existence of the website should be done.

Prevention of e-auction fraud

Nowadays, the increasing popularity of the Internet that is used for the purpose of commerce has caused an increase in Internet fraud. This has raised new and challenging legal issues about online auctions. The Internet has the capacity to reach a global audience, so the users may find it difficult to distinguish genuine source of information from fraudulent sources and result in e-auction fraud. This is often happen when the sellers conduct the auctions of goods through the online auction sites by using Internet and the buyers do not have the opportunity to examine the offered goods. Sometimes, the online auction seller may even list out the things that do not exist for sale. Thus, consumers must take note to prevent e-auction fraud when participating in an e-auction.

Firstly, the consumers can rely on the escrow agent to prevent the e-auction fraud. The escrow agents will hold their funds until the purchased item arrives, in the promised condition and eventually pay the funds to the sellers.

In addition, the online auction sites have been superimposed to follow specific steps by a comprehensive regulatory scheme to prevent fraud. Thus, if the online auction sites fail to adequately comply with the regulations, they will face the financial liability.
